William “Cootsie” David Barnes, 84 of 310 South Biggs Street, passed away Saturday, January 17, 2015 in Vidant Inpatient Hospice. A Celebration of Mr. Barnes’s life will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 in Riddick’s Grove Baptist Church. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 1:00 PM until the funeral hour and at other times at their home. Burial will follow in Spring Green Cemetery. Jimmy D. Sawyer Funeral Director Licensee is serving the Barnes family.
