Carolyn Baber Ganley, 91, died on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at her son’s home in Warrenton, VA.

Mrs. Ganley had retired after 35 years of combined service with the District of Columbia Government as a designer for the school system and later worked at the National Gallery of Art.

She moved to Washington, N.C and was an active volunteer interested in history and restoration.  She ran for mayor in 2003. More recently, she had lived in Durham.

She is survived by a son, Joseph Mackin Ganley III and hi swife, Kathleen, a granddaughter, Rachel Elizabeth Ganley, a niece, Stephanie Rowe and great-nephew, Aaron Pace.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Roberta L. Adams.

Services will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
