From the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit

 

On Feb. 19, 2014, investigators with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit arrested Johnny De-Angelo Smith, 37, of 158 Short Drive, Chocowinity. Smith was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, maintaining a vehicle to keep/store a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and carrying a concealed gun.

Smith’s arrest stemmed from investigators conducting a traffic stop on Smith and smelling an odor of marijuana. Investigators conducted a search of Smith’s vehicle and found marijuana, powder cocaine, crack cocaine and a concealed 9mm pistol.

Smith was confined in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $10,000 secured bond.
