Police seeking armed robbery suspects

Washington Police are seeking two men who committed armed robbery at a local pawnshop on Monday morning.

Officers responded to a report of an armed robbery at Washington Coins and Pawn, located at 828 Washington Plaza, at approximately 9 a.m. Monday, according to a press release from Lt. William Chrismon, spokesman for the police department.

“It was determined that the store was robbed by at least two men wearing dark clothing possibly armed with handguns. The suspects fled the store on foot,” said the press release.

Chrismon wrote that no one was hurt during the robbery and investigators are following up on information at this time. Washington Police have made contact with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms to aid in the investigation. A reward is being offered for information leading to the apprehension of suspects and or recovery of property involved in this crime, the release said. Those with information about this crime are asked to contact Washington Police Department at 252-946-1444 or Beaufort County Crime Stoppers at 252-974-6400.
