Mrs. Margaret “Annette” Edwards Manning, age 78, a resident of 18434 N.C. Hwy 125, Williamston, N.C. died Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at Vidant Inpatient Hospice House in Greenville.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, March 7, 2015 at Piney Grove Baptist Church, 2925 Piney Grove Church Road, Williamston, N.C. conducted by Rev. Jack Tripp, Rev. John Keeter, and Pastor Larry Stephens.  Burial will follow in Martin Memorial Gardens, Williamston, N.C.

The following will serve as pallbearers:  Randy Edwards, Troy Edwards, Jeff Bell, Chris Bell, Jesse Carlisle, Kelby Roberson, Ricky Etheridge, and Wayne Edmondson.

Mrs. Manning was born in Martin County on September 16, 1936. She was the daughter of the late William Leon Edwards and Gladys Rogerson Edwards.  Mrs. Manning was a homemaker and managed rental property and business operations for their construction business.   She moved to Portsmouth, Va. in 1960 but maintained a home in Martin County for 12 years.  Mrs. Manning was a member of the Believer’s Baptist Church in Chesapeake, Va.  In her spare time, she loved fishing, the beach, cooking and entertaining.

On November 19, 1960, she married Arthur Junior Manning, who survives.

Surviving with her husband, are two sons, Arthur David Manning, Alvin Timothy Manning and wife, Sherry all of Portsmouth, Va.; daughter, Wanda Manning Lilley and husband, Joseph of Williamston, N.C.; six grandchildren, Tiffany Manning, Brittany Manning, Andrew Manning, Brandon Lilley, Cameron Lilley, Jake Lilley; two sisters, Doris Carlisle and Margie Bell both of Williamston, N.C.; one brother, Billy Edwards and wife, Judy of Williamston, N.C.;  and several nieces and nephews including Linda Roberson, Doris Ann Etheridge, Kim Jones, Denise Edwards, Sharon Long, Troy Edwards, Chris Bell and Randy Edwards.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Manning was preceded in death by her step mother, Velma Keel Edwards; two sisters, Emma Edwards and Geraldine Braddy; brother, Joseph Lee Edwards; and two special nephews, Wayne Carlisle and Donald Carlisle.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, March 6, 2015 at Piney Grove Baptist Church and other times at the home of her daughter, Wanda Lilley, 2865 Fire Department Road, Williamston, N.C.
