Squadron holds change of watch

The Pamlico Sail & Power Squadron (PSPS) held its Change of Watch on March 7 at the Washington Yacht & Country Club. The Change of Watch is an annual event where casual dress is stepped up a notch and our PSPS Officers are in uniform. Accompanied by his wife, D/Lt/C John E. Bagby, JN, traveled from Pine Knoll Shores to preside over the change of watch and installation of the new bridge officers. The new bridge consists of: Commander Tom Graham, N; Executive Officer John Holloway; Administrative Officer Chris Young, S; Secretary Janet Neckyfarow, AP; and Treasurer Bob Young, AP. Assistants to the bridge officers include: Assistant Administrative Officer (meetings), Karyl Doscher; Assistant Administrative Officer (boating), Bill Ramsden, P; Assistant Educational Officer Manuel Nunez, S; Assistant Treasure Anne Kumins, P and Assistant Secretary Kay Graham.
Retiring Commander Edie Miller, S, referred to the accomplishment report indicating that 2014 was another very successful year for PSPS. The highlight of the evening was the recognition of outstanding efforts and awards for achievement given to various members for their contribution to the Squadron mission. They included: the Hatala Education Award to P/C Clif Heidel, P; the Commanders Recognition Award to Mia and Bill Ramsden, P; the Community Service Award to P/C Gene Alligood, AP; and the Colwell Perseverance Award to P/C Bob Hatala, SN. Wayne Estabrook was also recognized as consistently receiving 25 years of merit marks for his volunteer efforts.
Retiring Commander Edie presented a special Commander’s Recognition Award to Joyce Colwell, AP; Sharon Alligood, S; Manuel Nunez, S; Lisa Fiore, S; Ginny Waite, S and Chris Young, S for their assistance and support to her during her term as commander of the Pamlico Sail & Power Squadron.
