Russell C. Cherry

Russell Cornelius Cherry, age 55, a resident of 820 Mill Road, Washington, NC died Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at his home.

He was laid to rest Friday morning, March 27 at 11:00 a.m. with a private service conducted by David Linton, one of his close friends from high school.

He was a lifelong resident of Beaufort County.  He was the son of Alice Meekins Cherry and the late Seth Bridgeman Cherry.  He is survived by his mother, a sister Beverly C. Allamon and husband Chester of Greenville, NC and his older brother William B. Cherry and wife Connie of Washington, NC, several nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews.

After graduating from Washington High School, he worked with Texasgulf, Lowe’s and the last ten years with the Department of Transportation.

He was an honest, dependable and hard working person.  He will be greatly missed.

His family is very thankful to family and friends for the help and support that has been shown to them during this time.
