Clara F. Norman

June 2, 1926 – April 9, 2015

 

Ms. Clara Mae Foster Norman, age 88, a resident of 5700 NC Hwy. 45 North Belhaven, died Thursday April 9, 2015 at Vidant Inpatient Hospice.

Funeral services will be held at Pike Road Church of Christ on Tuesday April 14, 2015 at 2:00pm and will be officiated by Larry Wilson. Burial will follow in Davis Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Monday April 13, 2015 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Paul Funeral Home of Belhaven and other times at the home.

Clara Foster was born in Beaufort County on June 2, 1926 to the late William Major Foster and Clara Wilkins Foster.  In 1943 she married James Respess and had three sons. James preceded her in death in 1959.  In 1965 she married Tom Norman who preceded her in death in 2006. She was a mother and homemaker. She was loved by many who called her Aunt Clara, Granny, and Clara Mae. She was a member of the Pike Road Church of Christ and taught a ladies class for several years. She was known to always dress her best, had a gift of taking care of others, and was willing to give advice and share a witty comment. She loved her family unconditionally.

Clara is survived by her three sons, Tony Respess and wife Connie of Plymouth, Major Respess of Grassy Ridge, Bruce Respess and wife Cheryl of Roper, NC; seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and one great-great grandson.

Clara is preceded in death by five brothers, Levy, Fred, Wilson, Ab, and Miles Foster and sisters, Julia Daniels and Miriam Daniels; her grandson, Michial Respess II and her daughter in law, Deborah Respess.
