Those interested in adopting a pet should inquire at the Betsy Bailey Nelson Animal Control Facility, 3931 U.S. Highway 264 East, from 1 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturdays. Because of overcrowded conditions, the animals listed are only available as indicated.

All adoptions are on a first-come, first-served basis. To see more animals available for adoption, visit www.petango.com/beaufortcountyNC, visit ENC Shelter Dogs, ENC Shelter Cats and Washington Cat Rescue on Facebook or call 252-946-4517 for more information. Zoose

Run, don’t walk to meet our boy, Zoose. This attractive, 8-month-old male, silver-swirl tabby has a remarkable shorthair coat. Gray and buff softly blended; ebony and white provide patterns; a dusting of frost is visible. Zoose looks you smack in the eyes, and you know he thinks you’re special. This love bug is a fun cat, engaging you with his paw to play. Bright, smart, packed with personality, Zoose will make a fantastic pet in his new forever home. Pay him a visit. He’s available through Saturday at the shelter.

Paul

Long and lanky, that’s our Paul; a 1-year-old handsome, black, tan and white tricolor hound–mix. He’s a sweet, friendly, inquisitive boy with that hound dog nose for new scents! This worthy dog is too thin and he will need to be fed good dog food, along with a generous portion of tender, loving care, from people who will love him and provide him with his new forever home. Hounds — a wonderful breed — need exercise on a leash or in a fenced area. Paul is available through Saturday at the shelter.
