Jack Ellison Cutler, Sr., 84, passed away on Wednesday.

Funeral service will be held Saturday at 11:00 AM in Calvary Episcopal Church with the Rev. Jane Wilson officiating.  Burial will follow in Calvary Episcopal Churchyard.

Jack was born in Beaufort County to the late Thomas Edward and Augusta Ellison Cutler.  He was also preceded in death by a brother, Cleveland Cratch, sisters, Ila Davis Cutler, Beatrice Cutler Waters, Mildred Cutler Ambrose and Rosalie Cratch Woolard.

He served in the US Army during the Korean War from 1952-1954. He graduated from East Carolina with a BS in the Class of 1955 (Phi Sigma Pi Fraternity).

Jack retired from Carolina Telephone in 1991, as Commercial Manager after 36 years of service. He was a member of Tarboro Kiwanis (Golden K), Layreader at Calvary Episcopal Church and a member of Carotel Pioneer Club (President 1975).

During his working years and after retirement, Jack enjoyed many years of planting his vegetable garden, and various building adventures including homes, cars, garages, go-karts, and his love of helping others.

Jack is survived by a loving family including; Wife of 57 years, Dora Fort Cutler; Sons, Jack Ellison Cutler, Jr. of Lancaster, SC, Mark Anderson Cutler of Chocowinity, NC; Brother, Maurice Cutler and wife Sara of Washington, NC; Grandchildren, Bradford Ellison Cutler, Sarah Elizabeth Cutler, Jack Rhyne Cutler, Caroline Grace Cutler and many nephews and nieces.

The family will receive friends in Clark Hall at Calvary Episcopal Church following the service.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Calvary Episcopal Churchyard Fund.
