Krajewski awarded memorial scholarship

DAN OLSON SCHOLARSHIP AWARD: Washington High School senior Kyle J. Krajewski has been selected to receive the 2015 Patrick Brian Olson Memorial Scholarship. Krajewski, a member of the National Honor Society and an AP Scholar, received the scholarship based on his strong academic achievement and involvement in school and community activities. He plans to continue his education in the geology program at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Krajewski is the son of Neil and Cara Krajewski of Washington. The scholarship, awarded annually since 1992, honors the memory of U.S. Air Force Capt. Patrick Olson. Olson was a 1983 graduate of Washington High School and a 1987 graduate of the United States Air Force Academy. In February 1991, he became a casualty of the Persian Gulf War, serving the country and flag of which he was so fiercely proud. His family, friends and community continue to contribute to the scholarship fund.
