Shirley announced a slate of officers for election. Candidates were: Martha Seighman, queen; Catherine Fulford, vice queen; no candidate for secretary; Bernice Cannon, treasurer; Joyce Hodges, chaplain; and Joyce Carawan, card person. Officers were elected unanimously.
Joyce H. introduced Samantha Heath who told the members about Ruth’s House, a place of refuge for abused women. Joyce challenged each member to bring a paper or cleaning product. Many donations were graciously accepted by Samantha.
As part of the program and in honor of Flag Day Joyce led members in saying the Pledge of Allegiance and singing “It’s a Grand Old Flag!”
The group closed the meeting by singing “God Bless America!”
