KIM BOYD WATERED DOWN: Several Beaufort County Girl Scout troops volunteered with the Washington Triathlon in Washington, on July 25. Two of the troops volunteered along the running course at aid stations that were setup for athletes to get water and Gatorade to stay hydrated. The girls not only held cups of cool refreshment for the athletes but cheered them on as they ran. One picture attached shows Girl Scouts from Troop 3556 making cups of water and Gatorade for the athletes at their aid station. The other picture attached shows Girl Scouts from Troop 1016 holding cups of water and Gatorade ready for the athletes as they pass by at another Aid Station. Most of the girls said their favorite part was when the athletes asked them to throw cups of water on them as they ran by to help them cool off. Most of the athletes were very nice and expressed their gratitude and appreciation to the girls for being there.
