Rotary Minute: Just another thing you didn’t know about Rotary

Rotary Fun in Jamaica

Every year for the past 20 years or so The Rotary Club of New Kingston, Jamaica has joined with Ocean Conservancy, an American non-profit, to organize a beach clean-up day.

This event now draws volunteers from more than 100 countries who come and “comb the beaches.”

Last year they covered more than 600 miles. Sound like fun? It’s free… you just have to get there and be a Rotary volunteer.

Frank Belote is a member of Washington Noon Rotary. The club meets Mondays at noon at King Chicken. For more information, visit washingtonnoonrotary.org.
