Engelhard Sanitary District seeks proposals for Bond Counsel Services

From Hyde County

The Engelhard Sanitary District is currently working with the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Rural Development, Kinston office and multiple departments of the state of North Carolina to repair the Engelhard Sanitary District wastewater treatment facility at an approximately cost of $1.3 million. We are hopeful for substantial grant funds and have pre-qualified for up to a 75-percent grant. However, expectations have been set for far less and will not be determined until successful completion of the USDA process in the next 60-90 days.

Therefore, the District is seeking proposals and quotes for the provision of Bond Counsel Services in accordance with USDA requirements, N.C. General Statutes, N.C. Local Government Commission Procedures and any other regulations.

Interested firms are asked to provide a one- to three-page proposal, quote and sample engagement letter for the provision of the services indicated above, particularly pointing out N.C. experience.  Also, please feel free to attach any helpful, ancillary information you feel the District needs to be aware of, and that you may contribute to.

If possible, the District Board would like to consider selecting counsel at our Nov. 24 meeting.  Therefore, and since we view this a relatively simple effort, we request the receipt of proposals by 5 p.m. on Nov. 23. We will consider requests for extensions; however, with sufficient responses, we may proceed at any time on or after Nov. 24. Proposals should be sent to (by your preferred method):
