Mrs. Sallie Edwards Lewis Smith, 86, passed away Friday, November 20, 2015

A graveside service will be held on Sunday at 3:30 pm in Pinewood Memorial Park.

Mrs. Smith, a native of Beaufort County, was the daughter of the late Frank and Mittie Elizabeth Jones Edwards.  She was a homemaker who loved to cook for her family.

Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husbands, George David Lewis, Jr. and Arthur “Smitty” Smith; daughters, Peggy Jean Edwards and Joyce Marie Harrell; and brother, Frank Edwards, Jr. She is survived by her: son, William E. Lewis and wife, Marie, of Bath; daughter, Diane Lewis Griffin and husband, Christopher, of Elm City; step-son, Dennie Smith and wife, Laurie, of Bath; grandchildren, Trevor Edwards and wife, Pam; Janie Bell and husband, David; and Josh Lewis and Katie Lewis; 10 great grandchildren; and special family friends, Burnis Padgett and Johnny Padgett.
