On Nov. 29, 2015, at approximately 12:41 a.m., Deputy Zach Martin with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office was patrolling the area of U.S. Highway 264 West in Washington. Deputy Martin checked the plate number of a car in front of him through the NCDMV database and learned the vehicle had an insurance stop.
Deputy Martin conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle on Clayton Street near U.S. Highway 264. During the stop, Deputy Martin ran the driver’s license through the NCDMV data base and learned the driver’s license was suspended and there was an outstanding warrant for driving while license revoked. Other deputies responded to assist. A consent search of the vehicle revealed 6 grams of the pill Acetaminophen and Oxycodone Hydrochloride in a plastic bag in the vehicle’s console, and one Adderall pill. A search of the driver revealed one crushed Adderall pill. Adderall is a brand name form of Dextroamphetamine/amphetamine.
As a result, Deputy Zach Martin applied for and obtained warrants charging Bryan Thomas Dickerson, 32, of Hattie Lane in Washington, with two counts of trafficking opium or heroin or opiates, one count of simple possession of schedule II controlled substance, one count of possession of drug paraphernalia, and one count of driving while license revoked. Dickerson was also served with the outstanding warrant for driving while license revoked.
Dickerson was held in the Beaufort County Detention Center on $16,500 secured bond set by Magistrate Donald Sadler.
