Math Club equals Christmas cheer

GIVING BACK: Thirty members of the Southside High School Math Club shared some of their holiday cheer when they visited Willow Manor Nursing Home after school on Dec. 9.
Members of the club brought all 26 residents a present and handmade Christmas card to be opened on Christmas Day. Members sang Christmas carols and were accompanied on the guitar by sophomore Caleb Petty. Residents joined in on the fun by singing and clapping with the club members. Advisors of the club are Tina Petty and Lisa Johnson.

Members of the Math Club are continuing to collect can tabs to benefit the Ronald McDonald House of Greenville. Tabs from cans such as soda, soup and pet food can be dropped off at Southside High School, Chocowinity Middle School, Chocowinity Primary School, S.W. Snowden School and Mike’s Mini Mart of Chocowinity. Club members will also support the Ronald McDonald House in the spring by participating in the annual “Sport a Shirt, Share a Night” fundraiser, collecting wish list items to donate and making door decorations. The club appreciates all those who support their efforts.
