Ms. Betty Jo (B.J.) Shook

Ms. Betty Jo (B.J.) Shook, age 54, a resident of Washington, died Saturday, January 2, 2016 at PruittHealth–Trent Nursing Home in New Bern.

Ms. Shook was born in Fredericksburg, Va. on June 15, 1961.

She was the daughter of Colonel C. Shook and the late Hazel M. Dillon Shook. In her spare time, she loved gardening and reading.

Ms. Shook is survived by her father, Colonel C. Shook of King George, Va.; two brothers, Dennis Shook of Burgaw, N.C., Wayne Shook of Spotsylvania, Va.; three sisters, Diane Beavers of Woodford, Va., Brenda Chance of Irvington, Va., Darlene Pitt of King George, Va.; and longtime companion, Robert “Bobby” Everson of Washington.

Ms. Shook was preceded in death by her mother, Hazel M. Dillon Shook.

A memorial service will be held at a later time.
