From Beaufort County Schools

Beaufort County Schools began strategic planning for the district during the last quarter of 2015. The goal of this process is to develop a five-year plan to guide the district.

“Any effective organization has a plan to guide them to success,” explained Dr. Don Phipps, superintendent of Beaufort County Schools. “We knew it was time to update our plans to successfully guide the district.”

The planning process progressed, resulting in a draft edition of the Beaufort County Schools’ Strategic Plan.

“We are now seeking feedback from the public on our draft version of the proposed plan,” according to Phipps. The plan is available on the Beaufort County Schools website, www.beaufort.k12.nc.us. From the homepage, visit the Community tab and select Strategic Planning Draft. The webpage includes a portal for readers to leave feedback.

“People do not have to have a child in the school system to respond,” Phipps pointed out. “We are interested in hearing from all parts of our community. This is everyone’s school system.”

The current draft of this plan will be available online through Jan. 8 before the next step of this process begins. Printed copies of the information are available at the Beaufort County Schools Central Office, Building 1, 321 Smaw Road, Washington.
