QUILTING: Novice quilters in a new class at Beaufort County Community College will have new fabrics and sewing supplies thanks to a recent donation by the Pamlico River Quilters’ Guild. The group collected and donated those items, along with money to help buy additional supplies, at a recent guild meeting. Guild members will also visit at least one class session this winter to mentor novice quilters. “The quilters want to see their craft embraced by as many people as possible,” said Clay Carter, director of Personal Enrichment Initiatives at BCCC. “And thanks to these donations, BCCC can offer this great class at a very reasonable price.”
