Karen E. Barbour, a loving mother and friend, age 49, a resident of Riverview Lane, Belhaven, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2016, at her residence. Ms. Barbour was born in Raleigh on Nov. 3, 1966 to the late Drewy Turner Ellington and Mary “Lib” Varner Ellington. Ms. Barbour is survived by one son, Steven Daniel Barbour and wife Allison Renee Young Barbour of Zebulon. Ms. Barbour was predeceased by her husband, Mr. Melbour Daniel Barbour.

A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, Feb. 13, 2016, at 10 a.m., at Hillside Funeral Service Chapel with Christopher Sharpe officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
