Charles H. Godfrey, 80, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2016.

Services will be at 11 a.m., Monday, Feb. 15, 2016, in Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel. Military rites are provided by DAV Chapter 26. Burial will follow on Thursday, Feb. 18, 2016, in San Jacinto Memorial Cemetery in Houston. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Charles was born Oct. 26, 1935, in Ransomville, NC, to Stephen and Margaret Godfrey. He served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War receiving a Bronze Star. Charles worked as an aircraft mechanic and retired as an instructor after serving in the Air Force for more than 22 years. He owned and operated his own mobile home service company. He married Beverly Moore on Feb. 16, 2002.

He was preceded in death by a son, Charles “Cary” Lloyd Godfrey; and his first wife, Barbara Godfrey.

Survivors include his wife, Beverly Godfrey, of Amarillo; two sons, Rick Godfrey of Houston and John Godfrey and wife Rhonda of Huffman; a stepson, Jason Arnett of Amarillo; two stepdaughters, Misty Gilmore and Dawn Martin, both of Amarillo; a brother, Wiley Godfrey, of Illinois; a sister, Stella Smith, of North Carolina; 14 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.
