Troy Lee Beavers
Nov. 23, 1961 – Feb. 11, 2016
Troy Lee Beavers, age 54, of Chocowinity, passed away suddenly at Vidant Medical Center on February 11, 2016. Troy Lee attended Chocowinity High School and studied art at Pitt Community College. Everyone who knew Troy knows that he was a gifted artist. Drawing was a huge part of Troy’s life, inspired by his love of comic books. Troy started collecting comic books when he was six years old. His collection spans many years and is very impressive. Another talent of Troy’s was his craftsmanship, which went hand in hand with his artistry. His attention to detail is evident in the numerous projects he worked on in and around Chocowinity and Washington. Troy had a huge heart for animals, as he never turned a stray away. Bucky and Sugar are sure to miss him. His mother Phyllis and Roland loved God and supported Troy and will miss him so much. He is survived by his mother, Phyllis B. Ambrose, his father, Roland J. Beavers, his sisters, Tina Strong and Tonya Presby, half sisters, Julie Beavers, Pam Ward and Wendy Beavers, stepbrother, Bobby Beavers, and niece, Taylor Presby. The family will receive friends today at Hillside Funeral Service from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and other times at the home of his mother Phyllis Ambrose. A private graveside service will be held at the Buck Family Cemetery. Mike Strong, Tom Presby, Eddie Ambrose, Dennis Gentry and Don Ambrose will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
