Betty E. Williams
Feb. 18, 2016

Mrs. Betty E. Williams, 70, went to be with her Lord February 18, 2016. Betty and Ernie attended Poplar Chapel Church of Christ where Ernie served as minister for 34 years prior to becoming members of Macedonia Christian Church where she sang in the choir and taught Vacation Bible School. She loved to cook and shopping was a passion of hers.

Betty retired from the Employment Security Commission with 30 plus years of service.  After retiring she served on the Martin County Literacy Council. She also enjoyed working part time at Amy’s Hallmark in Washington.

Betty is survived by Ernie, her loving husband of 46 years and her son Aaron, of Jamesville. She is also survived by her two half-brothers, Gaylord Hall and wife Jerri, of Florida, and Bob Hall and wife Paula, of California.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Burt and Edith Hall.

One of life’s greatest treasures are the friends we make along the way. So many have been blessed to say Betty was their friend. She inspired us more than she knew. Her life was a daily example of her faith and her love for the Lord. We are better people because of her. She was a great example of Christian love.

Funeral services will be Sunday, February 21 at 3:00 P.M. at Macedonia Christian Church with visitation 1 hour prior to the service at the church.

Flowers are acceptable, or donations may be made to Johnson University, 7900 Johnson Dr., Knoxville, TN 37998.

Arrangements are by Biggs Funeral Home.
