The Washington (evening) Rotary Club met Thursday night at the Bunyan Ruritan Club for their annual oyster roast. President David McLawhorn greeted everyone and called upon Rocky Jacobs to lead in the Pledge of Allegiance. Club Chaplain Bruce Rabon gave thanks for the meal. Club business was put aside for the night as approximately 65 members and guests enjoyed a delicious bounty of steamed oysters. Song leader Bartow Houston led the group in a rousing rendition of “Happy Birthday” to President McLawhorn. The club returns to the Washington Yacht & Country Club next Thursday night.
