Mary Evelyn Jordan Blake, age 82, a resident of Washington, died Saturday, February 27, 2016 at Vidant Beaufort Hospital.

Services will be private.

The family received friends from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, February 29, 2016 at the home, located at 305 Maple Lane, the Rosedale community, of Washington.

Mrs. Blake was born in Pitt County on January 21, 1934 to the late George M. Jordan and Fannie Walker Jordan. She was a dental assistant for many years and she was even an interior decorator. Mrs. Blake was a member of Pantego Christian Church. She loved her children better than anything else in this world. Jesus is her rock and salvation in whom she put her trust.

Survivors include her children, Randall Jordan Butler of Calico, NC, Stephen Gray Butler and his wife Phyllis of Bath, Grady Mathias “Matt” Blake of Bath; four grandchildren, Jennifer Smith, Crystal Eure, Cameron Blake, Ethan Blake; two great-grandchildren, Chandler Dean Smith, Maci Eure; two sisters, Vara “Tootsie” Woolard and husband Ray of Washington, and Edna Woolard and husband David of Greenville.

She is preceded in death by her husband Stephen Grady Blake in February 2005, a grandson Josh Butler, and her stepfather William Jesse Green.
