Samuel Richardson Evett
June 6, 1932 – March 8, 2016

Samuel Richardson Evett, 83, of Wilson, passed away on Tuesday. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church, 311 Nash Street NW, Wilson. Interment will follow in Maplewood Cemetery. The Rev. Dr. Douglas Murray will officiate.

The family will receive friends 7–9 p.m. Friday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson, and other times at 3306 Berkshire Drive, Wilson.

Samuel is survived by his wife, Virginia Everson Evett of the home; his daughter, Susan Evett Boswell and husband, Mike of Wilson; his son, Sam Evett Jr. and wife, Ginny of Apex; his brother, Gilbert Evett of Washington; his granddaughters, Alyson Boswell of Los Angeles, California, Sarah Boswell Anderson and husband, Josh of Wilson, Melissa Evett Puryear and husband, Cory of Cary, and Christina Evett Durham and husband, Sean of Apex; and his grandson, Tommy Evett of Apex.
