Lester Vernon Dickinson “Ol’Papa1515”, age 64, a resident of Pinetown, NC, died Thursday March 24, 2016 at Rivertrace Nursing Home in Washington.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00pm Monday March 28, 2016 at Pamlico Memorial Gardens David Linton, Jr. will officiate the service. Bryan Hudson, Jesse Dickinson, Robbie Dickinson, Wade Stilley, Doug Alligood, and Johnnie Jackson will serve as pallbearers.
Mr. Dickinson was born in Beaufort County on September 27, 1951, to the late Leslie Vernon Dickinson and Ethel Louise Jones. He worked as a Mill Wright at National Spinning for many years. Mr. Dickinson was a true outdoorsman, he loved being outside especially to hunt and to fish. He always had a dog and loved other animals. His passion was his CB Radio. Mr. Dickinson’s handle was “Ol’ Papa1515” and would spend hours on channel 17 talking to others with radios. He enjoyed spending time with his grandkids. Mr. Dickinson was always willing to help a friend in need.
Survivors include, two sons, Ricky Dickinson and wife Maria of Pinetown, Mickey Dickinson and wife Wanda of Blounts Creek, four grandchildren, Allie Dickinson, Amber Dickinson, Serena Dickinson, Cody Dickinson, a sister Joyce Woolard and husband Linwood, and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Barbara Ann Sprouse, Jean Jackson, and one brother Robert “Bobby” Dickinson.
The family will receive friends from 1:00pm until 1:45pm Monday, March 28, 2016 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory.
