Four students complete BCCC Nurse Aide II program

From Beaufort County Community College

Four students successfully completed the Nurse Aide II program at Beaufort County Community College. Students completing the day program were Rasheeda Waters of Washington, Kristen Elks of Chocowinity, Telisha Moore of Washington and Vanessa Fischer of Washington.

The class began Nov. 3 and ended March 24. The students completed the Nurse Aide II clinical component at River Trace Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Washington.

Each graduate was presented a certificate in honor of her completion of the program.

The Nurse Aide II training program consists of classroom, laboratory and clinical components. The student must successfully complete all components to apply for listing on the North Carolina Board of Nursing Nurse Aide II Registry. The Nurse

Aide II student is responsible for demonstrating competency in the following skills: role of the Nurse Aide II, oxygen therapy, sterile technique, wound care, suctioning, trach care, peripheral IV fluids, urinary cath, G-tube feeding, colostomy care, removal of fecal impaction and finger stick blood glucose. The Nurse Aide II student must be listed as a Nurse Aide I on the N.C. Division of Health Service Regulation-Nurse Aide I Registry to apply for listing.
