Sandra Tinker Merchant
July 19, 1945 – April 25, 2016 

After a long battle with cancer, Sandra Tinker Merchant, age 70, of Aberdeen, NC, went to meet her creator on April 25, 2016. Sandra is remembered for having a positive outlook on life and was looking forward to spending eternity with her Lord. After being told that her cancer had become terminal and she only had about six months to live, she saw this as a wonderful opportunity given to her from God. She spent her remaining days on earth with those she loved and was an inspiration to all those she came in contact with. She is survived by 2 children: Robert Merchant Jr. of Monroe, NC, and Wesley Merchant of Aberdeen, NC, who were both at her bedside on the morning she went to be with our Lord. She is also survived by two grandchildren: Riley and Ashland Merchant of Aberdeen, NC; two brothers: Ray Tinker and wife Amy of Belhaven, and CG and wife Janet Tinker of Washington; and three nieces: Kristin Smith, Hayley and Kasey Tinker.

Sandy’s celebration of life service is scheduled for May 21st at 2:00 pm at the Broad Creek United Methodist Church, located at 562 Broad Creek Loop Road, Newport, NC 28570.
