Mrs. Ruby Inez Taylor Rowe, a resident of 118 Old New Bern Road, Chocowinity, died Sunday, May 15, 2016, on her 92nd birthday, at her home.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington, officiated by Rev. Joel Cannon. Burial will follow in the Esau Rowe Cemetery of Blounts Creek. John Edwards, Dennis Gentry Jr., Shawn Hall, Eddie Skinner, Tommy Rowe and Stanley Norris will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington and other times at the home.

Mrs. Rowe was born in Beaufort County on May 15, 1924, daughter of the late Walter James Taylor and the late Ollie Hill Taylor. On February 25, 1949 she married John Timothy Rowe who preceded her in death on April 2, 1989. She dedicated her life to her family as a homemaker. Her enjoyment was cooking for her family and working in her flowerbeds. She was a caring person and was always ready to lend a helping hand.

Survivors include three daughters: Brenda R. Mayo of Chocowinity, Phyllis Swindell and her husband Bill of Washington and Sandra Edwards and her husband Billy of Chocowinity; a son: Jimmy Ray Rowe of Chocowinity; a sister: Hazel Baker of New Port News, VA; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.  Mrs. Rowe was predeceased by a brother: Russell Taylor and a sister: Elsie Wiggins.

The family would like to thank Aseracare Hospice and Dr. David Lewis for their compassionate care given to Mrs. Rowe.
