U.S. FISH AND WILDLIFE SERVICE FOOTPRINT: You don’t have to actually see them to know black bears live on Pocosin Lakes National Wildlife Refuge. This bear footprint is just one of the signs bears leave to keep us aware that we share the refuge with them. Pocosin Lakes Refuge has a large black bear population. Always use caution when you're around bears.
