The A to Z Doll Club met at Grub Brothers of Washington recently. Those present included Diana Cates, Shirley Woolard, Marguerite Ferry, Joyce Carawan, Martha Robbins, Catherine Fulford, Martha Seighman, Marty Buchanan,  Donna Hodges and her granddaughter Briley Hodges, and Betty Ross and her friend Kathleen Whitley.

Diana called the meeting to order and Martha R. offered the blessing. Martha S. read the March minutes and Shirley gave the treasurer’s report.  The group serenaded birthday girls Gloria Windley (April 10) and Shirley (April 29).

Diana announced that the Doll Show and Sale is set for Oct. 15 at the Tar Heel Variety Theater in Chocowinity. Discussion regarding the show followed.

Shirley displayed an April Birthday Beanie and a 23-year-old doll as a table centerpiece. Door prizes were won by all present and were brought by Betty, Shirley, Diana, Marti and Martha S.

The Club met May 23 at the outside room of Diana’s parents in Chocowinity. Betty suggested that members wear a hat honoring their mothers. The meeting was adjourned.
