The Down East Seniors Club held its May 25 meeting at the Blind Center of North Carolina in Washington. President Ed Hamrick led the meeting. Jim Hackney played for the singing of “God Bless America” and Charlie Mike Smith gave the invocation. Dick Paul provided humor.
John Tunstall introduced Suzanne Sawyer, practice manager, and Susan Cahoon, medical massage therapist, with the Family Wellness Center. Sawyer and Cahoon described the services the center offers. They include counseling mental and social issues for both individuals and families, treating addictions, weight management, treating pain disorders and treating sleep disorders. They accept walk-in clients, medical referrals and school referrals. For treating pain, they use closely controlled medication therapy, acupuncture and massage therapy. Their goal is to work with clients to solve problems.
Charlie Moore won the 50/50 drawing.
