Mrs. Harriett Harrell Ange, age 89, a resident of 748 West 2nd Street, Washington, died Saturday, June 11, 2016 at Vidant Beaufort Hospital of Washington.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington, officiated by Rev. Todd Parrish. Burial will follow in Pamlico Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Mike Ange, Joey Ange, Eric Ange, Brian Ange, Gray Ange, Jay Ange, Thomas Ange and Jerry Everett Jr.
The family received friends 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington and will receive friends other times at the home.
Mrs. Ange was born in Edgecombe County on April 12, 1927, daughter of the late Thomas Lot Harrell and the late Harriett O’Neal Harrell. On March 2, 1943 she married Carlie Ethaniel Ange Sr. who preceded her in death on January 12, 1981. Mrs. Ange worked for twenty-one years at Sampson’s Shirt Factory as a seamstress. Later she worked seventeen years as a line operator at Singer Furniture of Chocowinity before retiring in 1991.
Survivors include six sons: Carlie Ange Jr. of Elizabeth City, Joe Ange and his wife Ann of Washington, Larry Ange of Simpson, Billy Ange and his wife Freddie of Chocowinity, Elmer Ange and his wife B.J. of Chocowinity and Randy Ange of Chocowinity; a daughter-in-law: Sandra Ange of Chocowinity and a son-in-law: Jerry Everett Sr. of Pinetown; twenty-three grandchildren and thirty-four great-grandchildren. Mrs. Ange was predeceased by a daughter: Betty Ange Everett; a son: Tommy Ange; four brothers; three sisters; two grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
