AOP holds 3rd annual Broadway Kids Camp

Arts of the Pamlico, located at the historic Turnage Theatre in downtown Washington, is proud to offer its third annual Broadway Kids Camp from July 25-Aug. 13. This special program is open to rising first- through 10th-graders.

After two successful productions, Disney’s “101 Dalmations Kids” in 2014 and Disney’s “Annie Kids” in 2015, this summer’s production will be Disney’s “Cinderella Kids.” Two performances will be presented on Aug. 13, at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., and will be ticketed and open to the public.

Broadway Kids Camp will meet from 1-4 p.m. weekdays. This three-week musical theater camp will take participants through the entire process of mounting and presenting a theatrical production, from the audition process through to performance.

Tuition for the camp is $200 for AOP Family Members and $250 for nonmembers. Tuition includes all supplies, daily snacks and a camp T-shirt. Performers may be asked to provide some costume items, if possible.

In an effort to make this summer’s camp available to as many participants as possible, AOP inviting anyone interested the opportunity to create a magical moment in a child’s life! Glass Slipper Scholarships are being sought before the clock strikes 12 (or July 10) to kick off Broadway Kids Camp. A contribution of $200 will provide a local deserving youth the chance to participate that otherwise would not be able to attend. Each scholarship donor will be provided with behind the scenes access to the growth and success of supported youth. Also, Glass Slipper Scholarship sponsors will be invited to the dress rehearsal and the cast party. Sponsors will also be named in promotional materials, including playbills.
