Mrs. Daisy Main Woolard, age 86, a former resident of 4499 Slatestone Road, Washington, died Sunday, July 10, 2016 at Ridgewood Nursing Center of Washington.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington, officiated by Marty Alligood. Burial will follow in the Woolard Family Cemetery at the home place. Joshua Boyd, Jonathan Boyd, B.G. Woolard, Richard Vosburgh, Brant Vosburgh and Zachary Caton will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Sawyer Vosburgh, Tommy Robbins, Justin Woolard and Justin Robbins.
The family will receive friends 2:00 p.m. until the funeral hour at the funeral home and other times at the home of Mrs. Woolard’s granddaughter, Alicia Vosburgh, located at 506 Alderson Road, Washington.
Mrs. Woolard was born in Beaufort County on December 29, 1929, daughter of the late Hampton Ramsey Main and the late Carise Congleton Main. On October 25, 1946 she married Spencer Ray Woolard who preceded her in death on April 5, 2009. Mrs. Woolard was a member of the Beaufort County Home Extension, the Beaufort County Grange and Rosemary Church of Christ. At Rosemary she was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary.
Survivors include four daughters: Linda M. Miller and husband Donald of Humble, TX, Clara W. Woolard of Washington, Dianna W. Dunn and husband Garey of New Bern and Kathy W. Boyd of Washington; a sister: Louise M. Robbins of Petersburg, VA; a brother: Flo “Dobbie” Main and wife Peggy of Colonial Heights, VA; eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Mrs. Woolard was predeceased along with her parents and husband by a daughter: Faye W. Woolard; two sons-in-law: William Robert Woolard Jr. and Michael Donicz Boyd; two grandchildren: Angela Lynn Woolard and William Anthony Woolard; and two brothers: Clifton Main and Richard Main.
