Paul Issac Godley

Paul Issac Godley, Jr., 70, passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2016. A graveside service will be conducted Saturday at 11am in the Edwards Cemetery, Possum Track Rd, Chocowinity. The family will receive friends following the service and other times at the home, 1182 Chandler Rd, Vanceboro.
Paul, son of the late Paul and Vivian Godley, was a native of Pitt County and lived in the Wilmar community for over 30 years. He worked as an electrician for various companies. Paul had many hobbies including painting, pottery, fishing, wood working, animals, and playing music. He loved to play bluegrass gospel, the harmonica, played in the Lonesome Creek Band, and was a member of the Beaufort County Traditional Music Association. Most importantly is that he loved his family very dearly.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Evie “Wardie” Godley and his wife, Lola; and brother-in-laws, James Whichard and Earl Daugherty.
Paul is survived by his wife of 51 years, Judy Godley; sons, Chad Godley and wife Lisa and Andy Godley and wife Jessie, all of Vanceboro; daughter, Tammy Lucas and husband JK of Chocowinity; grandchildren, Chris and Megan Godley, Kelly, Emily, Samantha, and Jake Lucas; sisters, Terry Whichard, Christine Godley, Ann Daugherty, and Geraldine Harris; and many nieces and nephews.
