Washington Country Club’s Upper Deck was busy Thursday evening as the Washington (evening) Rotary Club gathered before its meeting. After a great social period, members moved to the Pamlico Room for dinner and business. President David McLawhorn called the meeting to order and Todd Williamson led in the Pledge of Allegiance. Music man Bartow Houston headed a rousing chorus of one verse of “America” and Russell Smith gave the evening prayer.
Before dinner, Bartow shared the health and happiness report, and Zeno Edwards collected the Jack of Diamonds fundraiser. After a fine meal program chairman Zeno Edwards introduced his son, Ashton James, as guest speaker for the evening. Ashton owns and operates Universal PC Care in Greenville. He has been in business 10 years and specializes in computer care and repair. Universal PC Care is the only business in our area to do warranty work on Apple products.
Ashton talked about many aspects of today’s technology and was kind enough to spend most of his time answering questions from members about their personal devices and problems. Ashton was rewarded though as he received the highly coveted Rotary pen for his presentation.
The meeting concluded as Charlie Brown led in the Four Way Test of the Things we Think, Say and Do.
