The shelter is closed for the Labor Day holiday Saturday through Monday.

Handsome in his richly colored, brown shorthair coat with a white chest patch, this approximately 3-year-old, American pit bull terrier-mix is a happy and enthusiastic fellow.

Buddy loves people, their attention and interaction. He’s very smart — giving his paw freely to shake your hand and sitting readily — if treats are involved. Friendly and outgoing, Buddy appears to be high energy but at the same time, he minds his manners and tries hard to please.

Buddy needs loving owner(s) who will provide him with attention, basic obedience training and exercise in a fenced area or on a leash. Buddy will be a faithful pet and companion in a good, loving forever home. To see photos or video, visit Shelter Dogs/ID#1453.

Come spend some time with this really nice dog. He’ll be available until Sept. 12.

Looking very dapper in his shorthair coat of slate gray and pristine white, this 3-month-old sweetheart of a tuxedo cat is full of love and affection! Carter loves being held, snuggled and showered with affection. His character is that of a friendly, inquisitive, calm and gentle, all-around great cat. Carter will make a wonderful addition in a variety of good forever, loving home settings. See more of our Carter at Shelter Cats/ID#1439.

Stop in and meet him. He’s available through Sept. 12.
