William “Murrell” Cutler Jr.

William “Murrell” Cutler Jr., age 63, of Bath, died unexpectedly at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, NC while surrounded by family on Wednesday.
Born on December 14th, 1952, Murrell was known to everyone that knew him as the “King of the Soft Crabs.” An avid fisherman, trapper, deer hunter and outdoorsman; he lived and planned every day of his life by the cycles of the moon. He didn’t check with the Farmer’s Almanac, the Farmer’s Almanac checked with him.
Murrell was preceded in death by his parents: William Murrell Cutler Sr., and Hazel Credle Cutler; as well as his brother, Bobby James Cutler.
His adventurous life will forever be remembered through the lives of his surviving family: Half-sister – Doris Jean Cutler Brown, Son – William Murrell Cutler III, Daughter – Sabrina Cutler Clawson, and four grandsons – TJ, Anthony, William and AJ, Soulmate and Best Friend – Barbara Clark and extended family – Paul, Kelly and Adam Tate as well as granddaughter – Lexy Tate.
The family will receive friends Sunday, September 18, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Hillside Funeral Service & Cremations. A celebration of his life will be held Monday, September 19, 2016 at 2:00 pm at St. Clair’s Church of Christ, Bath, with Pastor Gary Marshall officiating. Burial will be held at the Arthur Credle Cemetery at a later date. Hillside Funeral Service & Cremations, 4500 Hwy 264 E, Washington, has been given the honor of being entrusted with serving the Cutler family.
