Ann Buck

Mrs. Carolyn “Ann” Buck, age 67, a resident of Washington, died Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at her residence surrounded by her loved ones following a long illness. Ann was born November 21, 1948 in Metter, GA to the late Jessie Ray and Helen Brown Wilson. Her family later moved to Vanceboro, NC, where she spent her childhood and attended Farm Life High School and later received an Associate Degree at Beaufort Community College. On April 4, 1981 she married the love of her life Troy Buck. Ann worked for a number of years for Belk Tyler’s, which later became Belk’s of Washington, until her early retirement to become a full-time homemaker. In the years following her retirement she was a devoted wife and mother who loved her children and grandchildren dearly. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by one daughter, Cathy “Alisa” Rowe in 2008 and one brother, Jesse Ray Wilson. Survivors in addition to her husband Troy include one daughter, Tammy Ann Ellis (Mike) of Merritt Island, FL, one son, Jason Ray Buck of Vanceboro, NC; five grandchildren, Brittany, Annalisa, Alexis, Brooke and Michael Thomas, and one great-grandchild, Sadie. A graveside celebration of her life will be held Sunday, October 23, 2016 at 2:30 pm at the family plot at Oakdale Cemetery with Jimmy Wilson officiating. The following will serve as pallbearers: Bill Casey, Jason Buck (Big Buck), Frankie Buck, Bryant Buck, Dodge Buck and Johnson Buck. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at Hillside Funeral Service and travel to the cemetery in procession. The family will receive friends at other times at the home. Flowers will be accepted by the family, but in keeping with Ann’s wishes the family has asked that memorial donations be directed to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, JDRF, at jdrf.org. Hillside Funeral Service & Cremations, 4500 Hwy 264 E, Washington, has been given the honor of being entrusted with serving the Buck family.
