Mr. Glenn E. Egli, 89, of Orange, CA, passed away Friday, October 21, 2016.
A graveside funeral service will be conducted Saturday at 11 am at Oakdale Cemetery, Washington.
Mr. Egli, a native of Indiana, was a graduate of Purdue University. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict, working in the United States Missile Program. After his military service he made his home in Orange, CA, where he continued to work in the US Missile Program as a government contractor for TRW. For a few years he left that work and opened an IHop Restaurant in Orange. He later returned to work with TRW to continue his work as an electrical engineer involved in the development of missile guidance systems, including the one used on the Lunar Module that went to the moon.
Mr. Egli was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
He is survived by: his wife of 54 years, Dorothy Wilson Egli, formerly of the Washington and Tranters Creek community; a son, Stuart Glenn Egli of Anaheim Hills, CA; a daughter, Andrea Egli Murphy and husband, Jim, of Escondido, CA; grandchildren, Kiera Murphy and Conner Murphy; a brother, Dr. Ray Egli of Hammond, IN; and a sister, Alta Sailor of Clarendon Hills, IL.
The family will receive friends Friday from 6 to 8 PM at Wilkerson Funeral Home in Greenville.
