Gary Mitchell “Micky” Walker

Mr. Gary Mitchell “Micky” Walker, age 59, a resident of Washington, died Thursday, Nov. 3, 2016 at his residence. Gary was born July 31, 1957 to the late Dorothy Waters Walker and Admiral Dewey “A D” Walker in Beaufort County. He attended New Christian Hope in Long Acre and was a member of Rosemary Church of Christ. Gary was a construction worker and crane operator with Brown & Root and later with TeTon. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one brother, Wiley Clay Walker. Gary is survived by one son, Matthew Case Walker of Washington, one brother, Allen Dewey Walker of Washington, three sisters, Sandra W. Sikes of Washington, Gloria W. Oakley of Plymouth, and Donna W. Taft of Greenville. A celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, Nov. 6, 2016, at 3 p.m. at the Walker Family Cemetery beside his home on Slatestone Road conducted by Brother Reggie Braziel. Ray Lewis, Phil Lee, Jimbo Henderson, Cecil Walker, Jr, Charlie Wallace and Allan Biggs will serve as pallbearers. Family and friends will gather from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. at Hillside Funeral Service and travel to the cemetery in procession. The family will also be receiving friends at the home, 6817 Slatestone Road, Washington. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Christian Hope Church of Christ, 6727 Long Ridge Road, Plymouth, NC 27962.
