Saturday at 4 p.m., Washington will be part of a worldwide celebration of storytelling —Tellebration. The Inner Banks Storytellers will be performing folktales for all ages in the Turnage Theatre Gallery. Beverages and treats will be available for sale to add to an afternoon of watching and listening to stories from around the world.

Every year, on the Saturday before Thanksgiving, communities around the world celebrate Tellebration.

“Telling stories is an essential part of the holidays, of being with family,” said Hannah Easley, a storyteller for the event. “We’re looking forward to celebrating that on Saturday.”

Storytellers include Phoebe Wahab and Easley from the BHM Regional Library, Terry Rollins from the Brown Library and Linda Boyer from the Beaufort County Traditional Music Association. Everyone is welcome to attend this free performance.
