Adrian Donfin Adams Jr.

Mr. Adrian Donfin Adams Jr., 86, of Greenville, NC, passed away early on Friday, November 25, 2016 at his home.

The funeral service will be conducted Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. in the Wilkerson Funeral Chapel with Rev. Roger Haithcock officiating. Burial will follow in Pinewood Memorial Park.

A native of Pitt County, Mr. Adams was a graduate of Chicod High School and attended East Carolina College (East Carolina University). For more than 35 years he worked for the United States Postal Service. Following retirement, Mr. Adams maintained a large route for the Daily Reflector, retiring in 2007 with 17 years of service. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was a member of American Legion Post #39 and was a proud member of American Legion Baseball Hall of Fame. Additionally, he was a member of Rose Hill Original Free Will Baptist Church, where he served as a Trustee, an usher, and served on the Layman’s League.

Mr. Adams will be fondly remembered for his easy-going personality and his kind nature. He enjoyed the company of others including a favorite pastime of meeting his group at Bojangles for coffee daily. He also enjoyed being a regular driver for various car dealers, moving cars when needed. He was a conservative person by nature but comfortably shared his mind when necessary.

A loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, Mr. Adams will be greatly missed by the many who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, Adrian and Letha Wrenn Adams, Mr. Adams was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Faye Adams in 1973, a brother, Lester Earl Adams and a sister, Louise Adams Barham.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Faye Branch Adams; sons, Adrian Thomas Adams and wife, Sarah Stasavich, of Greenville and Aaron Daniel Adams of Washington; granddaughter, Catherine Adams of Greenville; sisters, Peggy A. Tomlin and Sybil A. McLawhorn, both of Greenville, and Betty Sue Adams Woodley and husband, John, of Winterville; sisters-in-law, Janie W. Adams and Sara T. Branch, both of Greenville; a number of nieces and nephews and his favorite canine companion, Muzzle.

The family received friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home Monday from 6 to 8 p.m.
