Mr. Edward Fody Snoek, age 87, a former resident of Sag Harbor and currently of Sunset Point Road, Belhaven, died Sunday, December 4, 2016 at his home.

No services will be held.

Mr. Snoek was born in Manhattan, New York on August 24, 1929.

He was the son of the late Bastian Snoek and Augustina Fody Snoek.

Mr. Snoek was a marine biologist and retired professor at Hofstra University.

In August of 1970, he married Rosalie Stillwell, who survives.

Surviving with his wife are a brother-in-law, Theodore R. Stillwell (Diane); nephew, Theodore D. Stillwell (Wendy); niece, Kristin Maddox (Mike); step-nephew, Christopher Hirte (Nancy); great nieces, Jessica, Baylee, and Brookelyn; and great nephew, Preston.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Snoek was preceded in death by a brother, Herman Snoek.
