Brantley “Drake” Whichard

Brantley “Drake” Whichard, 2 ½-month-old son of Chase and Stephanie Whichard, passed away Monday, January 16, 2017 at Vidant Medical Center.

A funeral service will be held 1:00 PM Thursday, January 19, 2017 from the Chapel of Paul Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington, conducted by Pastor Ron Bousquet. Burial will follow in Belhaven Community Cemetery.

Aaron Gaskins and Dom Totten will serve as pallbearers.

“Drake” was born in New Hanover County on November 1, 2016.

He is survived by his parents, Brandon “Chase” Whichard and Stephanie EileenMarie Poppell Whichard of the home; paternal grandparents, Mark and Tammy Sadler Osnoe of New Bern, Jeffrey and Karla Whichard of Miami, FL; maternal grandparents, Britt and Lynda Poppell of New Bern; paternal great-grandparent, William H. “Billy” Whichard of Chocowinity; maternal great-grandparents, Louanna Rozier of Hinesville, GA, Sammy Poppell of Darien, GA, Jeanie Oliver of Bristol, TN and several aunts, uncles and extended family members.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 18, 2017 from 12 Noon to 2:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM at the funeral home and other times at the home of his paternal great-grandfather, Billy Whichard, 3068 Whichards Beach Road, Chocowinity.
