The Saturday night Jamboree rang in the New Year recently at the Redmen’s Lodge in Washington. Registrar Carolyn Jefferson signed in 130 clients with the help of volunteers Kathy Scrape and Neta Mercer. Other faithful volunteers included: Kathy Lilley, Michael Cutler, Tine Woolard, Jim Sadler, Martha Seighman and Joyce Carawan.
DJ Kenny Beacham played music for dancing while longtime volunteer Russell Jefferson kept a close watch at the door.
Following a blessing asked by Rebecca Hardy, refreshments were served by members of Old Ford Church. Those assisting in serving were: Raymond and Judy Williams, Ray, Heather, Jacob and Austin Williams, Jeff and Pam Mauet, Becky Rogers, Richard and Sandy Gerard, Beth Woolard, Shawn, Jenifer, Parker and Caroline Vans, Patsy Harris, Norleen Brinson, Jerry Alligood and Laney Hodges.
Martha and Joyce let the group in singing of “Auld Lang Syne” and for the January birthdays.
The next Jamboree will be the Valentine Jamboree on Feb. 11.
All mentally/physically challenged residents and all volunteers are urged to attend.
Anyone wishing to volunteer, provide music or refreshments or make contributions to the Saturday night Jamboree may call Jamboree President Marlene Sprouse at 252-946-4350.
